Senate Bill Saves All Parts of IDEA

As was reported in last week’s Policy Insider, the Senate Appropriations Committee advanced a funding bill for Fiscal Year 2026, which affirms the importance of each of the components of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The bill sends a strong counter-message to a proposal that would eliminate IDEA Part B preschool grants and IDEA Part D programs, including personnel preparation and development grants, technical assistance centers, and parent centers. Over the past few months, over 16,000 letters from CEC’s Legislative Action Center have urged Congress to advance spending bills that preserve all parts of IDEA. The Senate proposal does just that, and it advanced out of the Appropriations Committee with resoundingly strong bipartisan support.

While there are still many steps in the process of finalizing bills for the upcoming fiscal year, now is the time to express gratitude to Senators and urge them to continue advancing their bill. Please follow this link to voice your support.
